Pre-arrangement or making one's funeral arrangements in advance, is a
popular and growing trend. Pre-arrangement allows people to make rational
decisions ahead of time without the usual urgencies that may exist just after a
death occurs. Many people also pre-pay the services to set aside adequate funds
for their funeral.
Pre-arrangement is a very popular trend in the US
and Canada.
However, when I make pre-arrangements with people, I remind them not to be
selfish in expressing their own wishes and to allow their family some input at
the time of death. After all, the funeral is for the survivors, and their needs
should be taken into consideration.
