Adoracion "Dorie" Vertucio

BURNABY – Dorie Vertucio lost her battle to gallbladder cancer on January 15th, 2026.

Lovingly survived by her husband Francis, daughter, Joy Jung (Greg), sons Gene Vertucio, Roy Vertucio (Judy) and Randy Vertucio (Arlyn) of Edmonton; and ten grandchildren Clark, Claire, Koi, Elle, Kasey, and Noah, as well as Vincent, Lailani, Ryan and Mason of Edmonton. She will also be dearly missed by her siblings Cecile and Jimmy.

After over three years, our beloved grandma lost her battle with cancer on January 15th. Throughout her life, our grandma was someone we could all look up to, who loved unconditionally, and who saw the joy in each moment. We will never forget our times with grandma. Every ice cream cone, every bubble tea, every hug and kiss - those memories will be with us forever.

She was a pillar of our family. Our grandma's sacrifices built the foundation of who we are as a family today. To the very end, our grandma was a fighter; she held on so that she could spend one last birthday, Christmas, and New Year with us.

Her resilience through life was commendable. This journey has truly been difficult, and the pain of loss is immense. As we go through these challenging times, all our prayers and love are sent grandma's way. After years of sacrifice, we hope and pray that her soul is finally at peace.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm on Thursday, January 29th at Kearney Columbia-Bowell Chapel, 219 – 6th St., New Westminster, BC, V3L 3A3

The Prayer Service with the Liturgy of the Word (readings) will also be held on Friday, January 30th at Kearney Columbia-Bowell Chapel from 11:00 am, followed by the Rite of Committal (blessing) at 12:30 pm at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, 3789 Royal Oak Ave., Burnaby BC, V5G 3M1.
