Agnes Ann Confortin

August 11, 1922 — February 16, 2026

Agnes Ann Confortin

Agnes passed away peacefully in her sleep on February 16, 2026, at the age of 103. She is predeceased by her parents, (Frank and Ann Power), four brothers (Patrick, Larry, Myles, and Wilfred), husband (John), daughter Moira, son Greg, and granddaughter Tsumugi. She leaves behind her children Marcia, Paula (Dale), and Peter (Susan), 9 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren, and numerous much-loved nieces, nephews, and friends.

Born in Rosetown, Saskatchewan, in 1922, Agnes' family moved to New Westminster, British Columbia, when she was 5 years old. After attending St Anne's academy for 13 years, she worked in a doctor's office until she met John and they got married in 1950. John's work for the CPR Railway had them living in Penticton, Nelson, and Fernie, before settling back down in Vancouver where they raised their 5 children.

Agnes's passion was always family and friends. She loved to talk about her grandchildren and great grandchildren and was always quick to ask for any news about them. Although she sometimes seemed surprised at outliving most of her friends, she never forgot them and could list off a long litany of names and associated stories. Her cabin at Point Roberts was always her special place where hosting family and friends brought her so much pleasure over the years.

Although she is no longer with us, she has left an amazing legacy and memories for generations to come.
