Amélia Blanche Boyer

December 22, 1926 — January 4, 2026

Our dear mother, Amélia Blanche Boyer (née Salvail), of Vancouver, B.C. passed away peacefully in her sleep at the age of 99 on January 4, 2026.

She had suffered from Alzheimer's for the last decade.

Amélia, beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother was born to Oswald and Regina Salvail on December 22, 1926.

Mother, the youngest of 12 siblings, was born in Meyronne, Saskatchewan, and she regaled us with stories of the idyllic life she had growing up on the farm.

Later, her family followed her brothers out to B.C. where she later met her husband-to-be in Port Moody, B.C.

Amélia married her lifelong love, Raymond, on June 28, 1952, and they enjoyed 63 delightful years in Vancouver, where they raised their family.

Amélia was predeceased by her son Julien in 2012 and her husband Raymond in 2016.

Amélia is survived by her sons and daughters:

Daughter Bernadette Boyer and family: Rae-Lynn Rolls (Ian), great-grandchildren Colin and Ava. Denise Bianconi and family: (Stephan), great-grandsons Calvin and Logan. Kirsten Ginter and family: (Adam), great-grandchildren Landon, Adalynn and Emerson.

Son Julien Boyer (deceased) (wife Mary Alice) and their family: Denis (Jenn), great-grandchildren Eli, Dominic, and Claire. Suzanne (Walter) great-grandson Aiden. Ben (Annika), great-granddaughter Miriam. Eric.

Son Maurice Boyer: (Sofi).

Son Paul Boyer and family: Nicole (Kyle) and Monique (Chris) great-grandson Axel.

Daughter Marie Boyer.

Son Robert Boyer and family: grandchildren Keegan and Calvin.

Mom is also aunt to many surviving nieces and nephews and was predeceased by her 11 brothers and sisters.

Mom was a stay-at-home mother until the youngest child was in school, and then worked many years at Mt. St. Joseph Hospital, preparing bundles for surgery.

After her retirement, mom kept busy as she continued at Mt. St. Joseph Hospital as a volunteer in the Gift Shop. She made several friends there, and they enjoyed great camaraderie together. She also helped at her church fundraisers.

Amélia’s family wishes to extend their heartfelt appreciation to Dr. Gharedaghi and the caring staff of Haro Park Amber Lane for their kind and compassionate care of our mother. Mom especially enjoyed chatting and sharing laughs with the Care staff. Mom lived at Haro Park for eight years and came to regard the staff as her close friends.
