Anthony (Tony) Ceraldi, 87, passed away peacefully March 19, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. He overcame many health challenges these past few years with his incredible will, a strength he brought to every area of his life.
Tony was born in Vancouver, BC to the late Giuseppe and Carmela Ceraldi. Growing up in a large Italian family in Vancouver's little Italy, he developed a great sense of community, and a passion for all-things Italian.
Charity and giving back to his community was paramount to Tony. As a young man, he initiated the CYO youth group at St. Francis Parish; coached baseball and hockey; acted in local theatre with his wife Patricia; and in his later years, volunteered as President of Knights of Columbus and generously gave his time to his cherished St. Stephen's parish.
Tony was a well-respected Business Manager of Heat & Frost Insulators local 118 for many years, and later, an International Vice-President. Tony was passionate about his work, and workers' rights and worked tirelessly as an advocate on their behalf. Many of his initiatives led to a better quality of life for generations of union members.
But most of all, Tony was devoted to his family, and this extended far beyond his children and grandchildren. He was a beloved mentor to his many nieces and nephews, and took pride in being the patriarch of a large, close-knit family.
Tony was predeceased by his loving wife Patricia; his parents, Giuseppe and Carmela Ceraldi; sisters Maria (Monty), Theresa and Loretta; and brothers Donato , and Rocco (Gloria).
He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by his children Christina, Anna (Peter), Joseph (Monica), Johnathan, James (Karen); grandchildren, Shanna (Cody), Gina, Conlan, and Kellen; and great-grandchildren, Weston and Vienna; as well as many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and lifelong friends. He will forever remain in our hearts.
Tony's faith was important to him. He had a deep and abiding devotion to God that he shared in countless, quiet acts of kindness.
Thank you to the staff at Lions Gate hospital for their compassionate care for Tony.
Prayers will be offered for his soul on Friday, April 10th at 7:00pm at St. Stephen's Roman Catholic Church, 1360 24th Street in North Vancouver. Funeral Mass will be celebrated the following day at 12 p.m. Saturday, April 11th at St Stephen's.
In lieu of flowers, donation is appreciated to a charity of your choosing.
