Antonietta De Paoli

It is with the deepest sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother (Nonna), matriarch and confidant, Antonietta De Paoli at the age of 86.

Antonietta is survived by her daughters, Lisa De Paoli (Rod MacDonald); Silvana Mameli (John Hadley); Mary De Paoli (Ian Franck); her son Loris De Paoli (Sue Perlman); and her treasured grandchildren Kristina Mameli, Gianmario Mameli, Bronson De Paoli and Christian Franck. She will also be lovingly remembered and missed by her cherished family and countless friends in Canada, Australia and Italy.

Antonietta leaves an enduring legacy of selflessness, generosity and kindness. The most dedicated of grandmothers and parents and loyalist of friends, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, and long conversations with family and friends around the world. When not tending her flourishing garden, she could be found enjoying pancakes stacked high with whipped cream with her family.

She was predeceased by her devoted husband of forty-six years, Bruno, her grandson, Nico, and her son-in-law Leander.

Born in Cavaso Del Tomba, Italy, Antonietta immigrated to BC in 1960 to marry Bruno and begin their beautiful family in Queensborough. An integral part of the the Holy Spirit Parish community, she was part of a team of lovely Italian ladies behind every spaghetti dinner, banquet, and bazaar. Antonietta will be affectionately remembered for her compassion, gentle spirit, wit and sweetness.

Prayer Service will be held at Holy Spirit Parish, 244 Lawrence Street, New Westminster, BC, on Wednesday, July 8th, 2026, at 7:00 pm.

Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Spirit Parish on Thursday, July 9th, 2026, at 11:00 am.
