Audrey Roberta Constance Zucko

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Audrey Zucko in the early morning of July 15, 2026, at the age of 89. Audrey was surrounded by family and close friends in the weeks leading up to her passing, sharing many memories, laughs and heartfelt hugs. She passed away peacefully at home with her husband holding her hand and her sons by her side. Audrey is survived by, Tony, her loving husband of 58 years, son Lyall and wife Vini and their children Devin and Reva and son Graeme and wife Nina and their boys Anthony and Kristian. She is predeceased by her parents Amy and Robert Cook and her brother Harvey Cook.

Audrey met Tony while enjoying music and dancing at the Johann Strauss Continental Restaurant in the early 1960s. In those first years they spent their weekends dancing at Vancouver nightclubs like the Cave, Oil Can Harry’s and the Panorama Roof at the Hotel Vancouver. More recently they continued their life-long love of dancing during events at the Slovenian Hall in Burnaby and the Croatian Cultural Centre in Vancouver. Many of these memorable nights were enjoyed with their best friends Ariane and Gary Bruendl and Florence and Stan Zabkar.

Audrey was a devoted mother who always prioritized her family, lovingly taking care of her mother while also raising her young boys. She was a sportswomen who loved hitting tennis balls, going on family ski trips to Whistler and schussing down the local mountains. She was also a super soccer mom who never missed a game rain or shine.

Audrey is gone but not forgotten. We are inspired by her independence, determination, courage, spirit and deep love for family and friends.

A service will be held on Thursday August 6, 2026 at 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s Kerrisdale (Anglican Church) 2490 W. 37th Ave., Vancouver, BC. Refreshments and dessert will be served after the service.
