Barbara Patricia Fitzpatrick (née Hale)

Barbara Patricia Fitzpatrick (née Hale) was born on September 20, 1949, and passed away peacefully on August 27, 2026, with loving family at her side. 

Barbara grew up in the Fraserview neighbourhood of Vancouver and attended David Thompson Secondary School with many of her lifelong friends. As a young woman, Barbara was an English literature major at UBC and a proud BC Lions cheerleader. She went on to become a teacher, librarian, and administrator, contributing her talents as an educator to the Richmond School District for over 30 years. Barbara loved reading, travelling, playing tennis, and spending time with her three daughters. She cared deeply about children and the environment. 

Barbara will be missed by her brother, Robert "Bob" Hale (Kerrie), and sister, Wendy Hale, by her daughters, Erin Cullingworth (Steve), Kelley Turner (Scott), and Katie Fitzpatrick (Evan), by her four grandchildren, Jimmy, Will, Amy, and Louis, and by the many other friends, family, and colleagues whose lives she touched.
