Bohuslav Vido

It is with deep love and sadness that we announce the passing of Bohuslav (Bob) Vido on October 23, 2025, at the age of 84. He faced a courageous battle with cancer with quiet strength and optimism. He is survived by his loving wife Emilia (Emily) of 57 years, 2 sons Roman and Patrick, his daughter in laws Klara and Nittaya and his beloved grandchildren who affectionately called him Dedo - Daniel, Kamila, Alexa and Justin. He is also survived by his siblings Marta, Jozef and Paulo.

Born in Sipkova, Slovakia on April 18, 1941, Bohuslav was the eldest of 4 children of Viktor and Frantiska. Growing up, he loved to play soccer and formed friendships wherever he went. Always social and adventurous, he met and married Emilia Mosna in 1968. They emigrated to Winnipeg, Manitoba that same year and welcomed the birth of their first son Roman in 1969. Their son Patrick was subsequently born in 1976.

Starting at CPR as a Machinist and later promoted to supervisor, he balanced work and quality family time. From outdoor rink hockey with Roman to family motor home trips across the country, he continued his love of sports and travel while building a new life in Canada. He continued to be involved in his love of soccer by taking Patrick to games where he developed his skills. They moved to Surrey, BC after 10 years and his occupation transitioned to construction. This led to a lifelong career in forming and framing and subsequent renovation business with his son Roman.

Bohuslav will be remembered for his warm sense of humor and dedication to his family. His love, strength and kindness will live on in the hearts of his family and everyone who knew him.
