It is with deep love and sorrow that the family of Brenda Joyce Dudfield announce her peaceful passing at age 80 after a short but courageous battle with cancer in Surrey, BC. Born on November 25th, 1945 in London, England, Brenda was pre-deceased by her parents Martin William and Clarissa Joyce. She is survived by her loving husband Frank Dudfield, her daughter Carol (Kevin), her son David (Sarah), and her sisters Linda (Vic) & Christine (Robin) plus three nieces, one nephew and extended family.
Brenda’s dedication to volunteering throughout her life, established an extensive circle of friends throughout the world. Her volunteer work within the community was recognized with the Queen Elizabeth II’s Golden Jubilee Medal in 2002. In addition, her time spent with the Volkssporting community (local, provincial, national, and international) led to many new friendships, adventures, and life-experiences as she and her husband traveled the world for “just one more walk”.
A strong and motivated woman, she was a wife, a mother, a sister, an aunt, and a friend - Brenda will be missed by all that loved her or knew her.
The family would like to thank all those that provided care and comfort to Brenda during her brief battle with cancer.
In lieu of flowers or gifts, the family has requested that any donations be made to the Arthritis Society Canada or the BC Cancer Foundation.
Cremation has taken place, a memorial service and celebration of life for Brenda will follow at a later date.
