It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Claire Deirdre Jackson, who passed away peacefully on December 18, 2025, surrounded by her family.
Claire will be welcomed by those who passed before her, especially her Granny (Janette Cowan). She will be sorely missed by her mother Anne, father Ian, grandfather Edward, Sisters Jennifer (Christian), Alison (Tyler), brother Sean, nephews and nieces Henning, Elin, Ruaidhrí, Innis, and her loving partner Ola, along with family and friends both here and abroad.
Claire attended Corpus Christi Elementary, St Thomas More Collegiate, Langara College, and graduated from the University of British Columbia in 2019 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and First Nations and Indigenous Studies.
She volunteered at Big Sisters, Vancouver Family Preservation and Reunification Services, Distro Disco, and worked at Spare Time Childcare, RayCam, and Britannia Community Centre’s.
She loved deeply and fearlessly. In her 31 years, she lived life to its fullest, drawn to nature and all living things big and small, finding beauty, joy, and strength in even the darkest of times.
We’d like to thank all the Nurses, Doctors, Oncologists, Surgeons, Radiologists, and Palliative teams at St. Paul’s, VGH, BC Cancer, Community Health, and Callanish who collectively went above and beyond in the care and love they provided for Claire and her family.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Saturday, December 27, 2025, at Corpus Christi Church, 6350 Nanaimo Street, Vancouver, BC. Burial to follow at Ocean View Burial Park, Burnaby, BC.
As per Claire’s wishes, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Callanish Society https://www.callanish.org
