Darren Dissegna

Surrounded by cherished memories and the people he loved, Darren Dissegna journeyed home on October 4, 2026. Born on December 21, 1980, Darren brought joy, laughter, and kindness to all who knew him. 

Though his time here was far too brief, he inspired countless students at Templeton Secondary School through his passion for teaching and captivated audiences with his performances.  Known to many as Mr. D, he sparked a love of learning through his wit, wisdom, and gift for storytelling. 

His greatest joy was marrying the love of his life, Sonia, later surpassed only by the arrival of their beloved daughter, Mila, to whom he will forever be “Dada.”

Darren is survived by his mother, Milena; his father, Rocco; his brother, Jason (Tanya); his nephews and nieces; and many cherished family members and friends.

Funeral Mass will be held at St. Helen's Church in Burnaby, on Wednesday, October 21, at 4:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to BC Cancer or Burnaby Hospital, where Darren received exceptional care. He and his family will be forever grateful for the compassion and support they received, especially from his oncologist, Dr. Karen Goddard.
