Donald Lacey Smith

It is with a sad heart that we announce Donald Lacey Smith has passed away. He passed peacefully, with his wife of 57 years at his side, on March 30, 2025. Donald is survived by his loving wife, two children, 5 grandchildren, and one great-granddaughter. Donald was a good standing member of the International Union of Operating Engineers (I.U.O.E.) for 60 years as well as the Teamsters Union. Donald is the inventor of the free-standing fire ladder on fire trucks, which has saved many lives.
