Donna Gail Uzelac

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Donna Gail Uzelac, who passed away peacefully on December 21, 2025, surrounded by her family at Royal Columbian Hospital.

Donna will be welcomed by those who passed before her, especially her mother (Mary Korchinski), father (Nicholas Korchinski), uncles Bill and John, as well as all other close and distant relatives. She will be sorely missed by her husband Steven, son Lucas, his fiancée Filomena, and all other members of the Uzelac, Schlichenmayer, Lucente, and Charbonneau families, as well as relatives in B.C., Manitoba, Ontario, and by friends both here and abroad.

Donna graduated from New Westminster Secondary and studied nursing at Douglas College where she went on to become a nurse’s aide.

Donna was a practicing Catholic and developed a strong foundation of faith as a regular parishioner at Immaculate Conception Parish in Delta. She regularly gave back to the community and abroad, supporting organizations like Delta Assist, Union Gospel Mission, and sponsoring children in Bolivia for the last 30 years through the Chalice Catholic charity.

Donna loved life and lived it fearlessly, always pushing herself to persevere and stay positive despite the health challenges she encountered along the way. Donna was selfless, compassionate, and empathetic, always looking first towards the needs of others before those of herself, whether that be through the quality time spent, good deeds, or cooking/baking for the people she loved. In her 60 years, she lived life to its fullest, drawn to the beauty of nature and all living things. She loved gardening, travelling and spending quality time with her family. Donna always found strength in her faith, even in the most difficult of times.

We’d like to thank all the nurses, doctors, and surgeons at Royal Columbian Hospital who collectively went above and beyond the care and love they provided her during these past two months.

A Catholic Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Friday, January 9, 2026, at Immaculate Conception Parish, 8842 119 Street, Delta, BC. Following the Service, her body will be put to rest at the Gardens of Gethsemani Catholic Cemetery, 15694 32 Avenue, Surrey, BC.

Viewing and prayers will be held the previous evening at 7:15 pm on Thursday, January 8, 2026, at the Parish.

May Donna rest in peace, wrapped in the arms of God's love and grace.
