Dorothy Rowbotham

In loving memory of Dorothy Rowbotham, who passed away peacefully in the comfort of her family on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, in Burnaby BC at the wonderful age of 99 years. 

Predeceased by her loving husband of 39 years, Robert Rowbotham, in 1986. She is survived and will be lovingly remembered by her sons Paul and Gary (Susan) and daughters Larraine Bardaro (John) and Diane White (Bruce). Grandchildren Maggie, Mark and Kaitlyn; Cloë and Emma; Joseph, David and Danielle; Tom and Ben. Great grandchildren Logan and Koa; Henry, Charlotte and Archer; Ariella, Caralina and Chloe; Lily and Oliver. 

Dorothy (née Sherwin) was born in Manchester, England on July 20, 1926. She married the love of her life (Robert) Bob on April 5, 1947. Three children Paul, Gary and Larraine were born in England, with Diane to follow when they emigrated to Canada in 1958. Bob had come earlier to prepare for their arrival and they settled in Surrey. The family made their home in Surrey, but with Bob’s passing in 1986, Dorothy downsized and moved to Prince Charles Boulevard. 

In 2004, Dorothy moved to quiet Ocean Park where she lived happily until, in 2021, unable to live alone, she took up residence at George Derby Centre. Many good friends and acquaintances were made at George Derby. 

The family wishes to sincerely thank the dedicated nurses (Steven and Barry in particular) and the care aides and recreational aides (Tracy and Christine, among others) that were so kind and caring to our mother.
