It is with grateful hearts and deep love that we announce the passing of Elfriede Kamrowski-Gust, who peacefully went home to be with her Lord and Saviour on December 21, 2025, at the age of 91.
Elfriede was born on October 3, 1934, in Hagen, Westfalen, Germany, the youngest of three children. In 2000, she made Canada her home, where she continued to share her quiet strength, compassion, and unwavering faith with those around her.
She is lovingly remembered by her children Anne (and her husband Darrell) and Norbert (and his wife Gabi), and by her cherished grandchildren Sarah, Philip, Erin, Matthew, and Michael, as well as by her twelve great grandchildren, all of whom brought her great joy and pride.
Elfriede had a lifelong vocation as a nurse, a calling she lived with tenderness and devotion. She had a natural gift for caring for others, always attentive to the needs of her patients and especially mindful of those who were vulnerable or overlooked. Her life was marked by generosity, humility, and a readiness to lend a helping hand.
Above all, Elfriede loved Jesus Christ. Her faith was the anchor of her life. She found great comfort and joy in prayer, reading the Word of God, and listening to Christian hymns. She lived her faith quietly but deeply, trusting in God’s promises until the very end.
A Graveside Funeral Service will be held on January 7 at 11:00 a.m. at Sunnyside Lawn Cemetery.
