Emily Ann Palma Coppola Tyrrell

The death of Emily Ann Palma Coppola Tyrrell, 88 years, of Abbotsford, BC, occurred at Abbotsford General Hospital on Saturday, May 24, 2025. She was born August 15, 1936, in Dublin, Ireland.

She died peacefully after battling illness, now joining her beloved husband Dermot Tyrrell, who died June 6, 2024. They cherished 65 years of marriage on Earth, and now eternity in Heaven together.

Emily leaves to mourn her profound loss, their four children and their spouses: Damian (Jeanne) Tyrrell of Surrey, BC; Pascal (Inga) Tyrrell of Portland, Oregon; Judi (Len) Goerke of Abbotsford, BC; Joanne (Ebi) Fazzari of Abbotsford, BC.

She was a wonderful Nana and Great Nana to the joys of her life: Ryan (Elise) Tyrrell of Langley, BC - Evelyn, Declan, Margaret, and Anna; Colin (Kirsten) Tyrrell of Langley, BC – Charlotte and Isabelle; Julia (Sam) Jory of Vancouver, BC; Liam Tyrrell (Angela Yung) of Langley, BC: Misha Kemp of Portland, Oregon; Raymond Goerke (Bess Doyle) of Vancouver, BC; Caitlin Goerke of Abbotsford, BC; Elizabeth Fazzari (Laura Northrop) of Abbotsford, BC – Dominik, Elios, and Selene; and Patrick Fazzari (Daniel Rowden) of Abbotsford, BC.

She also leaves to mourn her youngest sister, Monica (Eddie) Hearns and family, in Australia, many friends and extended family members in Ireland, and friends here in Canada, especially her dear friend, Olive Brennan of Langley, BC.

She was pre-deceased by her parents, Joseph Coppola (1950) and Evelyn Powney (1969), and her older sisters Laudonia Coppola Jacobs (1972), and Margaret Coppola Byrne (2019).

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 4th, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church – 16079 88 Ave, Surrey BC. Reception to follow in the Church Hall.

Burial will follow at 2:30 p.m. at the Gardens of Gethsemani Cemetery– 15694 32 Ave. Surrey, BC. Flowers gratefully declined.
