Evelyn Annette Downs

Passed away peacefully on December 3, 2025, in the presence of family. Evelyn was raised on a farm north of Regina, Saskatchewan, the youngest of seven children born to Thomas and Ruth McCusker. She was predeceased by her loving husband Harry, and her siblings, William, Louise, Bette, Bernice, Kevin and Marion. Evelyn will be greatly missed by her daughters Katharine and Allison (Paul), along with many nieces, nephews, and friends.

She loved gardening, cooking, reading and classical music, and found enjoyment in everything from The Simpsons to Shostakovich. For many years, she volunteered with organizations such as Meals on Wheels, Ronald McDonald House, and the Stroke Recovery Club.

Evelyn will be remembered most for her generosity, sharp sense of humour, and for taking a genuine interest in others.

The family wishes to express heartfelt thanks to all the staff at Crofton Manor for their compassionate care and kindness. There will be no service, at Evelyn’s request.
