Felicia "Fay" Son-Hing

Born June 11, 1942, in Port Elizabeth, South Africa, to Quon Let Son-Hing and Dollie LC Son-Hing.

Our dear sister, sister-in-law, aunt, aunt-in-law, grand aunt, and friend to many, passed away after a short illness on Friday, March 6, 2026.

Fay was educated at the Port Elizabeth Chinese Primary & High Schools, and at the University of Cape Town, South Africa. She maintained strong and lasting ties to those she met during those formative years, as well as those she met in her subsequent move from South Africa.

In 1967, she emigrated to Vancouver, Canada, where she enthusiastically continued her passion playing various sports and indulging in her love of tap dancing, which she had done with elder sister, Lynette, since they were school children.

Fay was also the undisputed family historian and data librarian, keeping track of members of our large family tree and old friends who had dispersed internationally over the years.

Fay will be missed by all who knew her for her kindness, selflessness, and socially engaging personality.

As well, Fay will be remembered for her uncontrollable chuckling when she regarded the moment as being taken far too seriously than was necessary.

Gone, but not forgotten. We will remember the good times, as we know that is what you would want. RIP.

Survived by Lynette, Anthony, Dawn, Elyse, Justin, Quintin, Lana, Jochen, Adrianne, Julian, Madelyn, Owen.
