Francesco Loverro

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of our family’s patriarch, Francesco Loverro, on Saturday, July 25, 2026.

He is survived by the love of his life, his wife and partner of more than 60 years, Maria Celeste (née Misceo); his daughter, Anna (Francesco, 2020), and his son, Gennaro (Marisa). The pride and joy of his life were his grandchildren, Gabriela (Omid), Giulia (Adriano), Deni, and Adrianna, along with his great-granddaughter, Bianca, who brought him immeasurable joy during the last two years of his life.

He is also lovingly remembered by his extended family both in Italy and Canada including his only sister, Marianna (Domenico, 2025); his sisters-in-law, Mina (Giuseppe, 2011), Mina (Giovanni, 2019), and Graziella (Matteo, 2026), Celeste (Vincenzo, 2004), Benedetto (Margarita), Giuseppe (Graziella, 2024) along with their families, all of whom admired, adored, and loved him deeply. He was predeceased by his parents, Gennaro and Anna; his three brothers, Giuseppe, Giovanni, and Matteo; and his beloved son-in-law, Francesco.

Francesco, known to many as Frank, was born in Bitetto, Bari, Italy, on November 11, 1942. The third of five children, he was the only one to leave Italy in search of a better life for his young family. On a cold day in March 1968, Frank arrived in Vancouver with his young wife, Maria Celeste, and their infant daughter. They settled in East Vancouver, where Frank began working in construction. A few years later, he joined MacMillan Bloedel, later Weyerhaeuser where he spent 32 years in the White Pine Division before retiring.

After many happy years in East Vancouver, Frank and his family moved to North Burnaby, where he spent the final 46 years of his life surrounded by the love of family, friends, and neighbours who came to know and cherish him.

A man of tremendous honour, integrity, and kindness, Frank will be remembered above all for the unwavering love he had for his family and for the generosity of spirit he extended to everyone fortunate enough to have known him.

Our beacon of steadfast love, our guiding light, our anchor—you will be missed beyond measure, Papa. You were the very best of us. We will honour your memory by living our lives according to the values you instilled in us and by carrying your love forward every day.

Viewing will be held from 7:00 - 8:00 pm on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at Kearney Burnaby Chapel, 4715 Hastings Street, Burnaby, BC.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, at Holy Cross Parish, 1450 Delta Avenue, Burnaby, BC. Family and friends may view Francesco's Mass of Christian Burial at https://primestreamings.com/kearney/.  Entombment to follow at Ocean View Burial Park, South Mausoleum.

È con profondo dolore che annunciamo la scomparsa del patriarca della nostra famiglia, Francesco Loverro, avvenuta sabato 25 luglio 2026.

Lascia l'amore della sua vita, la moglie e compagna di oltre 60 anni, Maria Celeste (nata Misceo); la figlia, Anna (Francesco, 2020); e il figlio, Gennaro (Marisa). Orgoglio e gioia della sua vita erano i nipoti Gabriela (Omid), Giulia (Adriano), Deni e Adrianna, insieme alla pronipote Bianca, che gli ha regalato una gioia immensa negli ultimi due anni della sua vita.

Viene ricordato con affetto anche dalla famiglia allargata in Italia e Canada: l'unica sorella, Marianna (Domenico, 2025); le cognate Mina (Giuseppe, 2011), Mina (Giovanni, 2019) e Graziella (Matteo, 2026), Celeste (Vincenzo, 2006), Benedetto (Margarita), Giuseppe (Graziella, 2024), e le rispettive famiglie, che lo hanno stimato, adorato e profondamente amato.

È stato preceduto nella morte dai genitori, Gennaro e Anna; dai tre fratelli, Giuseppe, Giovanni e Matteo; e dall'amato genero, Francesco.

 Francesco, conosciuto da molti come Frank, era nato a Bitetto (Bari) l'11 novembre 1942. Terzo di cinque figli, fu l'unico a lasciare l'Italia in cerca di una vita migliore per la sua giovane famiglia. In una fredda giornata di marzo del 1968, Frank arrivò a Vancouver con la giovane moglie, Maria Celeste, e la loro figlia ancora in fasce. Si stabilirono a East Vancouver, dove Frank iniziò a lavorare nell'edilizia. Qualche anno dopo fu assunto dalla MacMillan Bloedel (poi diventata Weyerhaeuser), dove trascorse 32 anni nella divisione "White Pine" prima di andare in pensione.

Dopo molti anni felici a East Vancouver, Frank e la sua famiglia si trasferirono a North Burnaby, dove egli trascorse gli ultimi 46 anni della sua vita circondato dall'affetto di familiari, amici e vicini che avevano imparato a conoscerlo e ad apprezzarlo.

Uomo di grande onore, integrità e gentilezza, Frank sarà ricordato soprattutto per l'amore incrollabile verso la sua famiglia e per la generosità d'animo dimostrata a chiunque abbia avuto la fortuna di conoscerlo.

Faro di amore costante, nostra luce guida, nostra ancora: ci mancherai immensamente, papà. Eri la parte migliore di noi. Onoreremo la tua memoria vivendo secondo i valori che ci hai trasmesso e portando avanti il tuo amore ogni giorno.
