Francesco Maria Valente, born April 16, 1931, in Serra San Bruno, Province of Vibo Valentia, Calabria, Italy, passed away peacefully on October 27, 2025, in Vancouver at the age of 94.
He was predeceased by his parents, Angelo Raffele and Maria Grazia, his son Ralph, sisters Lina and Stella, his brothers Biagio and Salvatore, and his son-in-law Steve.
He will be lovingly remembered; and sadly missed by his beloved wife of 67 years, Carmela, his children, Grace, Lena (Norm), and Michael, grandchildren, Sophia and Angelina, his siblings Antonietta, Rita, and Bruno, and his many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Viewing will be held at Kearney Burnaby Chapel, 4715 Hastings Street, Burnaby, BC, on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, from 6:00 – 8:00 pm.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 2881 Main Street, Vancouver, BC, on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at 12:00 pm, officiating Fr. Tomasz Staruzyk, SDS.
Entombment to follow at Ocean View Burial Park South Mausoleum.
