It is with heavy hearts and endless love, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Enza.
Surrounded by the love and comfort of her family, Enza passed away peacefully at home on June 5, 2025.
Enza will be forever loved and deeply missed by her children, Marisa (Brent), Silvio (Francesca) & Bianca, her treasured grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, Matthew (Michela), Briana (Branden), Isabella, Cassandra, Luca, and Alessia. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and dear friends in both Canada and Italy.
Our mother was the heart of our family - a woman of unwavering strength. At the very young age of 36, she suffered a tremendous loss when her husband Mario passed away. Three months later, she received more sad news from Italy, that her mom had passed away. That is when her true strength and character was to be known. She put herself through night school at Vancouver Tech to learn how to write English and learn math. She applied & successfully got a supervisor’s job at CNIB Caterplan, to make more income to support herself and her 3 young kids.
Mom was determined to give her kids a good life in which she was very successful at. She worked at Canron Steel cafeteria for 25 years, never missing a shift. She took pride in her job & loved all the people she worked with. The feelings were reciprocated back as they all called her "Mama". She retired at the age of 65.
Moms’ passion was to bake and cook. Her favorite to bake and for her family to eat, were her famous biscotti, which she happily handed out throughout the neighborhood. Mom loved to garden. Her green beans, tomatoes & grapes were her pride & joy. She loved to bowl weekly, even winning a few trophies and she also played bingo at Notre Dame. She enjoyed going to the Hastings Racecourse on weekends to bet on the horses. She also loved to dance at the Deutsches Haus (Vancouver Alpen Club) every Saturday night. Mom was an avid Canucks fan, never missed a game & cheered them on louder than fans at the actual game. Like all diehard Canuck fans, she always hoped that she would be around to see them win the Stanley Cup. Maybe next year Mom. She loved all animals, especially her dear cat Blackie.
Mom was very strong-willed and very independent & there was no challenge too small. She was always lending a helping hand to those in need. She devoted her life to her family, which we will be eternally grateful for. Though she is no longer with us, her spirit lives on in everything she taught us and the precious memories we hold dear. Her love will forever live in our hearts.
