George Mihalopulos

April 16, 1971 — January 4, 2026

It is with great sadness to announce the passing of my brother George Mihalopulos on January 4, 2026 in Vancouver, B.C.

George was a deeply loved big brother, brother in law, uncle, and true friend.

George was born and grew up in Prince George, but shortly after finishing high school he moved to the big city of Vancouver, a city he loved and made his home. The energy of the big city and him just seemed to fit and he lived his life to the fullest there.

Visits to see George were always a highlight for us, especially for his niece Paige and nephew Jace. He enjoyed showing them the best of the city- introducing them to the coolest restaurants and the most beautiful spots around Vancouver. I’ll always remember the long walks around the ocean and the peace it brought. My brother was undoubtedly the fun uncle, always spoiling the kids on birthdays and at Christmas. The memories he created with us during those times will be cherished forever.

George built a large but extremely close-knit circle of friends in Vancouver, friendships that were like family- deep, true, and meant the world to him. George shared countless adventures with his close circle of friends in Vancouver, many of which revolved around their favorite spot, Bayside lounge at English Bay- a place filled with laughter, stories, and memories that will live on with those who shared them. George spent most of his life working in the restaurant industry, a career that he took great pride in. Most recently, George worked at an Italian restaurant called Tutto. His coworkers remember him for his dedication, kindness, and unwavering support of others.

George will be remembered for his big laugh (and hugs!), his love of music, his love of his family and friends, and the impression he made on anyone who met him. Rest in peace big brother.

A celebration of life will be held in Vancouver at a later date to honor George and the many memories shared with family and friends.
