Gertrude Cuthbertson

Gertie passed away on January 6, 2026 in her 90th year. She was predeceased by her parents Eduard and Frieda Strauss, and her daughter, Lorna Pye.

Gertie is survived by Dale, her loving husband of sixty-four years, son Glen (Ildi), three grandchildren Sarah (Kevin), Daniel, and Hannah (Thomas),

and six great grandchildren Cassia, Samuel, Caleb, Leilani, John and Denver, and her sister Regena Friesen and family.

In her lifetime Gertie was a secretary for a law firm and later a home support worker with Fraser-Cheam. She was always a willing trustworthy helper, and a lovely

indispensable loyal companion, mother and grandma. She enjoyed baking and gardening, and extending her gift of hospitality.

Gertie loved and served her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ all her adult life, and was called home to be with Him forever, and to receive her just reward. She is sadly missed.
