It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Giuseppe Antonio Nucera, a beloved father, husband, grandfather, uncle and friend.
Giuseppe, usually and to most known as Pepè, was predeceased by his parents, Antonio and Gaetana; his seven siblings: Giovanna “Gianna”, Consolata “Tota”, Margherita “Tita”, Filippo “Pippo”, Elisabetta “Betti”, Elvira “Vivì”, and Carmelo “Melo”; his first wife, Concetta; and his son, Antonio. He also leaves behind many relatives and dear friends in Reggio Calabria, Italy, where he spent most of his life.
A proud father and grandfather, Giuseppe is survived by his dedicated wife of 44 years, Luciana; his daughter Tania with her husband Gioele; his son Alexander with his wife Chiara; his son Steven with his wife Natasha; and his 6 grandchildren: Andrea, Francesca, Gaia, Janina, Serena and Olivia.
Giuseppe was born in Condofuri (Reggio Calabria, Italy) on the 8th of November of 1935. He left school early to join the family business and aid his ailing father, later becoming a successful serial entrepreneur. In his professional life, he was sharp businessman and a natural leader who loved deal-making and mechanics. He had a strong passion for his work, to which he would commit countless hours.
In his personal life, Giuseppe was a risk-taker who enjoyed riding motorcycles, driving fast cars and engaging in spirited political debates. He was dedicated to his family and tried to always be present and helpful. He relished family gatherings and took great joy in spending time with those he loved. Despite often appearing serious and composed, he had a sharp wit and sense of humour. He will be remembered as a true gentleman whose generosity touched many lives.
Viewing will be held on Wednesday, July 1, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. (Vancouver time), with Prayers beginning at 7 at Kearney Burnaby Chapel, 4715 Hastings St., Burnaby.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, July 2, at 10:45 a.m. at Saint Michael’s Church, 9387 Holmes St., Burnaby. Family and friends may view Giuseppe's Funeral Mass at https://www.legacystreaming.com/kearney/
Entombment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park at 1:00 p.m.
È con profonda tristezza che annunciamo la scomparsa di Giuseppe Antonio Nucera, amato padre, marito, nonno, zio ed amico.
Giuseppe, conosciuto da tutti semplicemente come Pepè, è stato preceduto nella morte dai suoi genitori, Antonio e Gaetana; dai suoi sette fratelli e sorelle: Giovanna “Gianna”, Consolata “Tota”, Margherita “Tita”, Filippo “Pippo”, Elisabetta “Betti”, Elvira “Vivì” e Carmelo “Melo”; dalla sua prima moglie, Concetta; e da suo figlio, Antonio. Lascia inoltre numerosi parenti e cari amici a Reggio Calabria, dove ha trascorso gran parte della sua vita.
Padre e nonno orgoglioso, Giuseppe lascia la moglie devota di 44 anni, Luciana; la figlia Tania con il marito Gioele; il figlio Alexander con la moglie Chiara; il figlio Steven con la moglie Natasha; ed i sei amati nipoti: Andrea, Francesca, Gaia, Janina, Serena e Olivia.
Giuseppe nacque a Condofuri (Reggio Calabria) l’8 novembre 1935. Lasciò la scuola in giovane età per unirsi all’attività di famiglia e collaborare con il padre, diventando in seguito un imprenditore di grande successo, capace di avviare molteplici attività. Nella sua vita professionale fu un acuto uomo d’affari ed un leader naturale, con una grande passione per le trattative e la meccanica. Amava profondamente il suo lavoro, al quale si dedicò con passione.
Nella vita privata, Giuseppe era una persona audace, che amava andare in moto, guidare auto veloci e partecipare a vivaci dibattiti politici. Era profondamente legato alla sua famiglia e cercava sempre di essere presente e di aiuto. Amava le riunioni di famiglia e provava grande gioia nel trascorrere del tempo con le persone che amava. Pur mostrando spesso un atteggiamento serio e composto, aveva una notevole prontezza di spirito e senso dell’umorismo. Sarà ricordato come un vero gentiluomo, la cui generosità ha toccato la vita di molte persone.
La camera ardente si terrà Giovedì 2 luglio, dalle 3:00 alle 5:00 (orario di Roma), con una preghiera alle 4:00, presso Kearney Burnaby Chapel, 4715 Hastings St., Burnaby.
La Messa esequiale sarà celebrata Giovedì 2 luglio alle ore 19:45 presso Saint Michael’s Church, 9387 Holmes St., Burnaby. Famiglia e amici possono guardare la Messa di Giuseppe su https://www.legacystreaming.com/kearney/
