Harold Cletus Bohan

Harold Cletus Bohan passed away peacefully on January 5, 2026 in White Rock, BC, at the age of 89. He will be sadly missed by his children Paula (James), Colleen and Harry (Cynthia), grandchildren Hayley, Stephanie (Kirk) and Ellie, and great-grandson, Kilian.

Harold was born in Semiwagan Ridge, NB, the eighth of fifteen siblings. He is survived by his sisters: Catherine (late Dennis), Pauline (late Raymond) and Anne (Tommy) and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings: Edward (Catherine), Sister Lawrence Joseph (née Eileen), Mary, Hilda (Nicky), Dorothy (Victor), Rosemary (Jerzy), Earl (Sheila), Peter (Shirley), Lawrence (Josephine), Wilfred and Sister Barbara

Harold left home early to work in Saint John, Saint John’s and Toronto. Following a stint in the Navy, he continued to travel, visiting Argentina, Brazil and Cuba. He worked in mining and forestry in Ontario, British Columbia and the Yukon.

Eventually, Harold married the girl next door from Semiwagan Ridge, Marguerite (Greta) Frances McGrath, and they settled down and raised their children in British Columbia.

Harold loved his grandchildren and sweets, telling the children, “You can’t have any candy until you eat your dessert.” He enjoyed playing the odds at horseracing and playing Bingo to win Smarties for Kilian. Harold was an avid reader of history and politics, and kept up with current events until his last few days.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Most Pure Heart of Mary Church, Barnaby River, NB, at a later date.
