On Friday, May 29, 2026, Ho Kay Chan, loving husband and father of four children, passed away at the age of 88.
Ho Kay was born on September 12, 1937 in Hong Kong. He raised the family with his better half Cynthia.
With deep love and gratitude, we remember a devoted husband, cherished father, and proud grandfather whose life was defined by compassion, wisdom, and unwavering dedication to his family. He was a constant source of strength and guidance, always placing the needs of his loved ones before his own. His gentle spirit, kind heart, and quiet presence brought comfort and joy to all who knew him. The memories he created with his family will be treasured forever, and his love will continue to live on through the generations he leaves behind.
For many decades, he faithfully served his community as a Taoist priest, dedicating his life to preserving traditions, offering spiritual guidance, and providing comfort during life's most meaningful moments. Through his service, he touched countless lives with humility, devotion, and respect. His commitment to his faith and his community earned him the admiration of many, and his legacy of service will continue to inspire those who had the privilege of knowing him. Though he has departed from this world, his teachings, kindness, and enduring example will remain in the hearts of all who loved him.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, July 2nd, 2026, at the Kearney Funeral Services on 450 W. 2nd Ave, Vancouver from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. Service information will be revealed soon. Burial would take place at Mountain View cemetery next day at 12:00pm.
