Jacques Lemieux, age 83, of Chilliwack, British Columbia, passed away on May 17, 2026. Born in Ottawa, Ontario, he spent his later years in Chilliwack, cherishing time with family, friends, and the communities he served.
Jacques served in the military, a chapter of his life marked by discipline, duty, and a deep sense of service. He loved gardening, finding peace and joy among his plants and the home he tended with care. An avid volunteer, Jacques dedicated countless hours to helping others and making his community a better place. He coached the Special Olympics, offering encouragement, support, and a belief in the athletes’ talents and perseverance. More recently he began volunteering with Kiwanis.
Jacques gentle spirit, generosity, and commitment to helping others left a lasting impression on all who knew him. He will be missed by those whose lives he touched through his work, his garden, and his devoted volunteerism.
Predeceased by his father Edmond Lemieux, mother Anita (Crete) Lemieux, brothers Jean-Guy and Jean Claude Lemieux.
Survived by his wife Peggy Ward, sister Madeleine Ladouceur (Roger), daughters Shari Parsons (Paul), Liette Lemieux-Lakins ( George), Wendy Lemieux (Steve Nolan), stepdaughter Cheryl Belmont, and stepson Kevin Dryden (Linda).
Grandchildren: Kelly, Shalynn and Britney Holdsworth, Kristi Andersen (Frede), Steven Dryden (Shawna), Shaun and Jason Cragg, Mallory and Colin Lakins, Megan and Mark Nolan
Great Grandchildren: Isaac, Aliyah, Hadley, Channing, Frede, Tavin, Jacob, Deacon, Madison, Teo, Daisy, Shayanne, Emerson, Maverick, Maya
As well as several nieces and nephews. Particularly Madeleine's children Marc and Lynne Sauve.
