Kevin Stuart Ballard

Kevin Stuart Ballard, born in Newmarket, Ontario on June 2, 1962, passed into the great unknown on Feb. 12, 2025, in Vancouver, BC. He is pre-deceased by his parents, Margot Isobel Smith (Wheeler) and Stuart Arnold Ballard. He is survived by sisters Jill and Karen Ballard, son James Smith and grandson Lincoln. Kevin enjoyed living in a variety of Ontario rural settings and small towns, including Nobleton, Kettleby, Brodhagen, Mitchell, Stratford, Nile, Meaford, Collingwood, Markdale, and Owen Sound. He spent the last years of his life in Vancouver, BC. He worked in various construction jobs, in factories, as a farm labourer, as a camp counsellor, and as a chef. He achieved his Culinary Skills Certificate at Georgian College in the top of his class. He was a nature-lover, an avid reader, and a connoisseur of great music. He was a skilled athlete in his youth, and a lifelong baseball and hockey enthusiast. He was intelligent, kind, philosophical, and poetic. In spite of his many challenges, he had an enduring sense of humour. A private family memorial ceremony will take place at a later date.
