Leevi PÕLDER

May 7, 1927 — December 16, 2025

BURNABY

Leevi PÕLDER was born on May 7, 1927, in the village of Mustjula, Saaremaa Island, Estonia and fell asleep in Christ on December 16, 2025, at Burnaby Hospital at the age of 98 years. He is lovingly remembered by his wife and best friend, Betty, to whom he was married for 63 years and by his children, Catherine, Bronwyn, and Mark (Meghan); and nieces Cynthia (Rob), Ingrid (Greg) and nephew Wayne (Jan). Leevi was preceded in death by his parents, Aleksei and Julia, and his brother, Klement.

Leevi grew up in Estonia but fled once the Soviets invaded. The family made their way to Sweden in 1943 and then immigrated to Canada in 1948. Leevi was a Master Builder with his father and brother during his years in Vernon and continued working in the Lower Mainland.

Leevi was a wonderful husband and father. He had an amazing personality and was always positive and steadfast in his belief in the resurrection. He was guided to the Truth when he attended a public lecture arranged by the Vernon Christadelphians and was baptized into Christ on November 16, 1980. After moving to Burnaby, he attended the Vancouver meeting and subsequently the New Westminster meeting. Leevi and Betty were always ready to open their home to brethren from all over the world and made many lasting friendships.

Our hope is that when our King returns and raises the dead in Christ we will be together in the worldwide Kingdom with Jerusalem as the capital. We look forward to that great and glorious day and pray Yahweh will send his son soon. Even so come Lord Jesus.
