Louise Dufresne

It is with sadness that the passing of Louise Dufresne is announced. Louise passed away peacefully on May 29, 2026, at Fraser Canyon Hospital in Hope, British Columbia, after receiving compassionate care from the healthcare professionals who supported her in her final months. She was deeply grateful for the kindness, dedication, and support she received throughout her care. Born in Vancouver, British Columbia, on April 16, 1943, Louise spent much of her career working in Central Supply at St. Paul's Hospital. She took pride in her work and contributed quietly and faithfully to the healthcare system for many years. In her younger days, Louise enjoyed travelling and exploring the world. Among her fondest adventures were trips throughout Europe, where she experienced new cultures, landscapes, and friendships. Later in life, Louise settled in Hope, British Columbia, where she purchased a home and became an active member of the community. She developed many lasting friendships and enjoyed the warmth and companionship of those around her. Louise was predeceased by her mother, Lucille Dufresne, her father, George Dufresne, and her sister, Jeannine Dufresne. Those who knew Louise will remember her independence, quiet strength, adventurous spirit, and appreciation for the simple pleasures of life. She leaves behind many dear friends whose lives were enriched by knowing her. In lieu of flowers, donations in Louise's memory may be made to Hope Community Services, which provides valuable support to individuals and families in the Hope community. Louise's memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and cared for her.
