Manuel Claro Arrieta

Arrieta, Manuel Claro passed away peacefully on December 21st, 2025 in St. Paul’s Hospital, Vancouver, BC at the age of 76. He is predeceased by his brother Jesus Arrieta, father Gaudencio Arrieta, mother Sabina Arrieta and his brother Inocencio Arrieta. Manuel is survived by and will lovingly be remembered by his wife Owen Arrieta, daughters Angele Arrieta & Amie Chua and her husband Alex Chua, granddaughters Mia & Clara Chua and many other family and friends. Manuel was born in Manila, Philippines and came to Vancouver, Canada in 1974 where he met his beloved wife Owen. They shared 46 years of marriage. A hardworking husband and father, he was known for his devotion both at home and for his many years as head counterman at an auto-parts warehouse. His world centered around caring for his family, cherishing time with his grandchildren, and tending to the home and vegetable garden he planted each year. He had a fondness for animals including the family dogs, Ciera then Shiba. And, in recent years, a resident crow whom he named Peter and a squirrel that continue to visit the yard regularly. His laughter and corny antics will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

A viewing will be held Tuesday, January 6th, 2026 at Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish 10460 139 Street, Surrey, British Columbia, Canada beginning at 10 am, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 11 am at the same location, with Fr. Mario Villaraza as celebrant. Interment to follow at Valley View Memorial Gardens, 2 pm.
