Margaret Rose Patience (née Puczko)

Margaret Rose Patience (née Puczko) was born on February 1, 1939, in Medicine Hat, Alberta, to Joseph and Veronica Puczko, who emigrated from Nedelica, Slovenia. She was the youngest of five children. Two of her siblings, Marija and Ignac, passed away in Slovenia before the family came to Canada. Margaret was predeceased by her brother Andrew (Pat), who was born in Maple Creek, Saskatchewan. She is survived by her brother Tony (Ilene) of Sherwood Park, Alberta, who was also born in Maple Creek.

Margaret met Danny Alexander Patience at a dance in Lethbridge, Alberta. Their relationship began that evening, and they went on to share nearly 68 years of marriage. He was the love of her life. Together they built a large family and lived in many cities throughout western Canada, following Danny’s job as a Kmart Manager.

Margaret is survived by her husband Danny; her children Terry, Danny (Kelly), Gregory, David (Smile), and Shelly (Rod); 16 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

She valued family above all else and took great pride in staying connected with her many nieces and nephews. Whether by phone, letters and cards, visits, or family gatherings, she made an effort to keep in touch and enjoyed seeing family whenever they were in town.

Margaret will be remembered for her sense of humour, dedication to her family, her tireless energy in always cooking delicious homemade meals for the family, and the relationships she maintained throughout her life. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Her passing leaves a significant loss for her family, who will remember her with love and appreciation for the life she lived.

Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St Nicholas Catholic Church Monday, July 13, 2026 at 11:00am.
