Mary Wan

Mary Wan passed away peacefully on December 14, 2025. Her last days were spent in the company of her three children who were by her bedside during her final hours.

She was known for her excellent cooking and cleanliness. Quiet but determined she forged ahead when confronting any obstacles.

From her birthplace in Rodrigues, she moved to Mauritius where she got married to Albert Wan and raised her three children. When her husband went to work in Zambia, she accompanied him.

Upon their return from Africa, the stage was set for the family’s next big move, Vancouver, Canada. For the next 50 years it would be her home and where Albert Wan passed away in 1995.

She is survived by her three children and three sisters: Marilyn, Jean-Alain and Bernard; Mimose, Louise-May and Virginie.

A memorial mass will be held at Blessed Sacrament Parish, 3040 Heather, Vancouver at 10h30 a.m and the burial will be at 12h30 p.m at Oceanview Cemetery, 4000 Imperial, Burnaby on the 23rd of December, 2025.
