Delta, B.C.

Our beloved Maurice (Maury) Jacob passed away peacefully at the age of 88 in Langley, on October 3, 2026, after a lengthy and courageous battle with Parkinson's. Maury was born in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, predeceased by his parents, Dollard and Germaine Jacob and his 10 older siblings.

Loving husband of 63 years to Mary, his devoted wife. Treasured father to Marie (Blake), Maurice (Michelle), Therese (Jon), Janette (Dave) and Lauretta (Ryan) and Grandfather to 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He is survived by many nieces and nephews and friends who will miss him dearly.

Maury grew up in Victoria, graduating from Saint Louis's College and spending 3 years in Iona College in New York, completing his Bachelor of Arts in Education at Seattle University. He was an educator for 35 years, primarily in the Delta School District as Principal, retiring at the age 57. Maury and Mary travelled extensively in the years following, covering untold miles in their RV and various bus trips and cruises in the later years. Maury's greatest enjoyment was spending time with his family including countless camping trips, hiking and exploring, as being an educator, his summers were free to spend with his wife and children. Maury also enjoyed many fishing trips with his friends and as a man of deep faith, was a very active member of his parish throughout the years. Following in the footsteps of his father, Maury also loved carpentry, having a creative, natural talent which showed in his never-ending projects around his home.

Maury had an amazing, dry sense of humour, was a true gentleman and a faithful friend. For his family he was a pillar of wisdom, strength and unconditional love. His bravery, patience and grace was truly humbling, particularly in his final years. Maury will be missed beyond measure by all who loved him. Prayers will be offered at St. Nicholas Parish, Langley at 6:00 PM on Oct. 19 and a Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM on October 20th. Burial will take place at Gardens of Gethsemani, Surrey.
