Michael passed away peacefully in St Michaels Centre Hospice on July 8, 2010 following a brave and lengthy battle with cancer.  Predeceased by his stepdaughter Christina, brothers Jack and Seamus; Michael leaves to mourn his wife of 37 years Anne, stepson Frank(Joyce), step-grandchildren Chad, Karen, Nicole, Shelley(Jeff); sisters Anne(Frank) and Mary(Anthony) in Ireland; brothers Donal( Maureen) and Joe(Nancy) in England; brother-in-law John and sister-in-law Amelia(John); numerous nieces and nephews in Canada, England, and Ireland.  Michael worked as an administrative supervisor at Riverview Hospital for over 25 years.  A private and courageous man who was deeply committed to his religion, Michael was a proud and loyal member of the Knights of Columbus for many years.  Sincere thanks to all the doctors, nurses, care-aides, and volunteers at St Michaels Centre Hospice who provided care for Michael. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at  St Francis de Sales, 6610 Balmoral St, Burnaby on Tuesday July 13, at 10:30 AM.  Burial to follow at Ocean View Burial Park.  In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Franciscan Sisters of the Atonement, 385 E Cordova St, Vancouver BC  V6A 1L4.
