Michele Angelo Cozzolino

April 22, 1943 — February 28, 2026

Aldergrove

Michelangelo Cozzolino, age 83, passed away peacefully on February 28, 2026, at 9:54 p.m. Born April 22, 1943, in Santa Anastasia, Naples, Italy, Michelangelo immigrated to Canada in 1965, where he began building the life and future he dreamed of for his family. Shortly after arriving, he purchased his first home in Vancouver, British Columbia, laying the foundation for a life defined by hard work, faith, and dedication to his family.

Michelangelo began working for the federal government at Riverview Hospital in 1974. Starting in the laundry department, he worked diligently while continuing his education, eventually moving into healthcare. His dedication to helping others later led him to open homes that provided care and support for people who needed a helping hand. Serving others was not just his work but a reflection of his compassionate character.

He had a deep love for animals and maintained a small hobby farm throughout much of his life, caring for cows, llamas, chickens, exotic birds, and his loyal dogs, Princess and Jessica, right up until his final days. The simple life brought him great joy and peace.

After speaking with Pastor Chris Maritz, the family takes comfort in knowing that Michelangelo was content with the life he lived. Above all, he carried a strong Christian faith and a genuine love for his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Michelangelo was the second youngest of six children born in Santa Anastasia, Naples, Italy. He was predeceased by his sisters Maddalena, Giovanna, and Anna. He is survived by his brothers Andre and Mario.

He leaves behind his beloved wife Chiara; his son Tony and daughter-in-law Mandy, and their children Michelangelo and Elodie; and his daughter Tina, her husband Robert, and their children Olivia, Luciano, and Victoria.

Michelangelo will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and a man of deep faith whose kindness and generosity touched many lives.

Viewing will be held at Kearney Burnaby Chapel, 4715 Hastings Street, Burnaby, on Thursday, March 12, 2026, from 5:00 to 6:00 pm.

Funeral Service and Celebration of Life will be held at Living Word Fellowship, 2623 272 Street, Aldergrove, BC, on March 13, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Ocean View Burial Park South Mausoleum, 4000 Imperial Street, Burnaby, BC.

In lieu of flowers, donations will be made in Michaelangelo’s memory to the BC Heart and Stroke Foundation.

“Well done, good and faithful servant.”
