Born June 12,1942 on Carbonara, Bari, Italy, Michele (Mike) passed away peacefully in Burnaby, BC on December 29, 2022, surrounded by his loving family.

Michele was a proud Italian and even prouder Barese. A husband, father and Nonno, he leaves behind a legacy built on hard work, discipline, and integrity.

Predeceased by his parents Vitantonio and Rosa, and his brother Rafaelle. Mike is survived by his wife of 56 years, Nicoletta, his children Vito (Cinzia), Mike jr (Teresa), Rosa (Enzo), his sister Angela, his brother Antonio, and his beloved grandchildren, Matteo, Emily, and Leo as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends both in Canada and Italy.

Mike came to Canada to follow the love of his life Nicoletta in 1966, armed with the master skills of a craftsman and the fierce desire to build a life and family. He worked tirelessly as a cabinet maker his whole life, his talents taking him across Canada, the US and Europe.

He loved tending to his garden and lived a simple but meaningful life keeping his Italian traditions alive. He was an incredibly generous man who set high standards for his children. His grandchildren were his pride and joy and no matter what he was feeling his face would light up when they entered the room.

His legacy will be felt for generations and the traditions he cherished will carry on through his children and grandchildren.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday January 6, 2023, at Our Lady of Sorrows Church 525 S. Slocan Street. at 1:00 pm.

Michele is at rest now in heaven with his beloved parents and older brother most likely building God a new kitchen made of oak of course.
