It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Michele Murazzo. Surrounded by the love of his family, he passed away at Mount Saint Joseph's Hospital on June 21st, 2026.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 70 years, Lidia, along with their children Ada (Antonio) and Tonino (Mary). He will be lovingly remembered by his grandchildren, Marco (Michelle), Paolo (Debbie), Stefano (Liana), Michael (Carmela), Robert, Massimo (Chaela), and Amanda, along with his 7 great- grandchildren. In addition to his immediate family, he leaves behind beloved siblings and their spouses, in-laws, nieces and nephews, and many treasured friends in Italy and Canada who will miss him dearly.
Michele was born to Antonio and Adelina Murazzo in Palata, Italy, on March 20th, 1933. After growing up in this small town, he lived in Rome with his family and owned a successful auto garage with his brothers. He immigrated to Canada in 1967 in search of a better life for his family. Upon arriving in Canada, he started working at Citation Cabinets, where his wife Lidia, worked alongside him. After retirement, he supported his son and son- in -law’s autobody business through active daily participation in its successful operation – a legacy from his business in Rome so many years before. Michele was a fantastic cook and was never happier than when he was with family, making us all laugh. His smile and hearty laugh will forever remain in our hearts.
Our family would like to thank Dr. Scott Shepherd and his family for being exceptional neighbours and providing guidance through the tough times as well as the doctors and nurses at Mount Saint Joseph's Hospital, who cared for him in his last hours.
