Onorio Reginato

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Onorio Reginato.

Onorio was born in Ca’Rainati di San Zenone, Italy on February 26, 1945. He passed away peacefully on June 11, 2025, at the age of 80 years.

He is survived by his loving wife Mariangela, his children Sonya (Spencer), Paula (Michael), grandchildren Hugh and Elise, sisters Lidia and Gabriella, brother Giuliano, and predeceased by sister Teresina. Onorio also leaves behind many cherished family members, nieces, nephews, and dear friends in both Canada and Italy.

In 2025, Onorio celebrated a number of personal milestones - his 80th birthday, 60 years in Canada and 55 years of marriage.

Onorio pursued his lifelong work as a machinist leaving home at the age of 15 to learn his trade. He earned his professional technical diploma in Pisa and then worked for two years in Milan before emigrating to Vancouver, Canada at the age of 20. In 1980 he started Bridge Machine and to this day two of his first employees continue to work at the company. At Bridge Machine many in the industry apprenticed and mentored under Onorio’s stewardship and after 40 years he made the decision to retire. His hard work and determination, the care for his employees and leadership, remain his legacy to this day.

To all who knew him Onorio is known for being a gentleman and a special soul. His generosity, love for all, and warm smile will remain in our hearts forever.

The family expresses its deepest gratitude to all who cared for Onorio over the years and in his final days. A special mention goes to Dr. N. Perry, family doctor and Dr. K. Luecke, at the Surrey Cancer Centre. A heartfelt thank you also to Bernard, Jayson and Mayzette from Rivers and Valleys Home Support Services, and Crossroads Hospice who took him into their care during his final hours.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, June 27, 2025 at 10:30 am at All Saints Parish, 821 Fairfax Street, Coquitlam. Entombment will follow at Grand Mausoleum, Ocean View Burial Park, Burnaby.

In lieu of flowers, a donation made to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada would be greatly appreciated by the family.
