Pak Kei (Becky) peacefully passed away on August 24, 2026, at the age of 48. Her loving family gathered around her after a courageous and long-fought battle with cancer.
Born in Hong Kong on April 1, 1978, Becky was four years younger than her middle sister and best friend, Becca. Despite their age difference, they shared an unbreakable bond. They shared a bedroom for 15 years, borrowed each other’s clothes without asking, and kept private secrets. Becky was Becca’s favourite travel companion, even though she always gently critiqued Becca’s photography. They were also workout buddies, enjoying walks, badminton, and kickboxing. After workouts, they would indulge in good food together, becoming self-proclaimed food critics who tried new restaurants and enjoyed mukbang shows.
Professionally, Becky worked as an accountant at Revenue Canada. Known for her sharp analytical mind, she was the family’s go-to expert for anything involving Excel and financial advice.
Becky is lovingly remembered by her parents, Wing and Hazel Chan; her sisters, Peggy Chan and Becca Chan Jo; her brother-in-law, Richard Jo; her niece, Mackenzie Jo; and her aunt and uncle, Annie and Andre Lam.
The family expresses their deepest gratitude to Becky’s friends and colleagues for the overwhelming love, support, and prayers they offered throughout her journey with cancer.
A private family service will be held.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the BC Cancer Centre and/or Burnaby Hospital in Becky’s memory.
