It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Palmina at Villa Carital, with her loving family by her side.
She was born in Mammola, R.C., Italy, and came to Vancouver as a child with her parents and brothers.
Palmina was predeceased by her parents, Giovanna and Gaetano Camarda, and her brothers, Nicodemo and Paolo Camarda.
She proudly graduated from UBC with a degree in languages and went on to teach for many years at David Thompson Secondary School. Palmina had a love for travel, but above all, she cherished her family and friends.
She will be remembered as an elegant, intelligent, kind, and caring person. Palmina will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her nieces, nephew, uncle, aunt, many cousins, dear friends, and students.
Prayers will be offered at 8:00 p.m. Thursday, March 26, 2026, at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, located at 555 Slocan Street, Vancouver, and Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Friday, March 27, 2026. Entombment to follow at Ocean View Burial Park, Abbey Mausoleum.
In honour of her generous spirit, in lieu of flowers, please make a donation to a charity of your choice.
