Patrick Daniel O'Brien, a beloved partner, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully on March 4, 2026, in Surrey, BC, at the age of 75.
Born on October 22, 1950, in New Westminster, BC, Pat lived a life full of cherished moments and connections with his community, family, and friends. As a teen, Pat played competitive Lacrosse, a passion he continued to pursue by coaching and managing various lacrosse teams in the Lower Mainland, including all three of his sons' teams.
Pat was an avid Seattle Seahawks fan, holding season tickets for over 30 years. His family is grateful he was able to see the Seahawks win the Super Bowl this year alongside his sons. Go Hawks!
Pat also had a deep and enduring love for all 60's music, particularly The Beach Boys—a tradition in the family was that a Beach Boys song must be played when crossing into the state of California.
After a successful career in sales for Lance Bisset Ltd, he developed a keen interest in Canada's mining sector and would eventually become the CEO of a publicly-listed junior mining company as well as serving as a business consultant in that same industry.
He is lovingly remembered by his partner, Darla and will be missed by his three sons, Shane, Adrian and Spencer, his 4-legged family member Lucy, as well as many other family members and dear friends.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Pat's memory to the BC Cancer Foundation.
