Rina Filaferro

It is with deep love and sorrow, we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved mother, the Matriarch of our family, Rina Filaferro.

Despite suffering the loss of her beloved husband (Bruno Visentin) at a young age and enduring life struggles, she eventually created a fulfilling and beautiful life!

She was born in Loria, P. Treviso, Italy, on August 13, 1933. She was the last survivor of three siblings growing up on a farm in Loria with her two sisters, Elena and Francesca, and her brother Augusto.

Family was everything to her! She was always there to give advice, a hug, and her unconditional love! Her passing leaves a void in our hearts, but she leaves us with many memories to last a lifetime! We have some comfort knowing that she is now reunited with her loved ones who went Home before her.

She was a phenomenal mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister-in-law, aunt, cousin, and friend!

She leaves behind to mourn and remember her with fondness her children, Camilla (Rick), Lili (Mark; daughter Ashley), Danny (Chris), her grandchildren, Tanya, (Mike), Robyn, (Brad), and Ryan, her great-grandchildren, Aidan, Ethan, Owen, Cali and Brady and many relatives in Toronto, Italy and Argentina.

She was a fiercely independent, proud, strong, caring, loving, and kind woman!

She worked at Adelina’s Italian Deli for 30 years, made lifelong friendships, and often spoke of how much she loved it! Many of her customers will remember her cheerfulness and welcoming smile!

Mom, you can rest in peace knowing your work here is done! We will see each other again… ❤️

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Friday, January 23, 2026, at Holy Cross Church, 1450 Delta Avenue, Burnaby, BC.
