Rolando C. Hidalgo

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Rolando Carandang Hidalgo, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle, who left us peacefully on October 31, 2025 at the age of 82.

Rolando will be lovingly remembered by his devoted wife, Divina, his cherished son Marvin, daughter-in-law Marilou, and his adored grandchildren Nathan and Taliah, who all brought him joy and happiness. He is also survived by his loving sisters Rosalinda, Diosdada and Elena, along with numerous relatives and friends who will forever hold him close in their hearts.

Born on September 30, 1943, Rolando lived a life rooted in family, faith, and kindness. He will be remembered for his warm smile and his gift for making people laugh and his never-ending ability to always help those around him. Rolando made others feel welcome and loved, and his presence brought laughter, comfort, and strength to those who knew him. If anyone needed help, he was there to serve right away.

A Vigil Prayer Service will be held on Wednesday, November 12th, at 5:00 p.m. at St. Paul’s Parish, 8251 St. Albans Road, Richmond, BC. The Funeral Mass and Burial Service will take place the following day, Thursday, November 13th, at 11:30 a.m. at St. Paul’s Parish, followed by interment at Ocean View Cemetery, 3883 Rumble Street, Burnaby, BC. A reception will be held at St. Francis De Sales Parish Hall, 6610 Balmoral Street, Burnaby, BC, beginning at 2:30 p.m.

Rolando’s legacy of love, faith, and generosity will continue to inspire his family and all who were blessed to know him. Though he is no longer with us, his memory will remain a guiding light in the lives he touched.

May his soul rest in eternal peace.
