Sheila Elizabeth Jagger

August 16, 1947 — January 24, 2026

On January 24, 2026, Sheila Elizabeth Jagger (nee Humphrys) passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and deep devotion to family.

Sheila is survived by her loving husband Brian, her children Carl Schornhorst (Bev), Christina Machnau (Shawn), Brigham Jagger (Joanna), Ryan Jagger (Cynthia), and Stephanie Jagger and her grandchildren Livy, Katie, Chloe, Charlie, Sienna, William, Declan and Evelyn.

As well, Sheila leaves her “silly” sisters, Daphne Lovick (Doug), Brenda Ansell (Max) & Nancy Martin (Andy) and her devoted sisters-in-law Nancy Jagger and Cathy Jagger.

Sheila’s greatest source of happiness was her family, all of whom she loved dearly. She relished time spent with her husband Brian, her children and their spouses, and her grandchildren. She treasured every gathering, conversation, and shared laugh. Her love was steady, unconditional, and unwavering, and her family always knew they were her heart.

Sheila lived life with energy and infectious enthusiasm. She was a tremendous athlete and an avid lover of sport. She found great happiness with her beloved friends playing racquet sports, trips to Yellow Point or skiing at Whistler.

Movement was always part of who she was - she embraced activity not only as sport, but as a celebration of life itself. Music and dancing brought her great joy. Whether listening, moving to the rhythm, or simply sharing a moment with others, she carried a natural grace and warmth that drew people close. She was multi talented – an amazing seamstress, fabulous cook, a mathematical whiz, a designer and the player everyone wanted on their team (but not in their choir)!

Sheila will be remembered for her vitality, her kindness, her generosity of spirit, and the deep bonds she nurtured with those she held dear. She leaves behind a family forever grateful for the years, the memories, and the love they shared with her.

The family would like to thank the team at Hospital West, Louis Brier Home & Hospital, who have been so caring and helpful. A very special thanks goes to Sheila’s long-time caregiver, Marivic Garzon, who has been her unwavering companion and friend for the last 9 years.

A Celebration of Life for Sheila will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Alzheimer Society of BC.
