We are saddened to announce the loss of our beloved husband, father and nonno, Stefano Macri, who passed away peacefully into the loving embrace of God on November 21, 2022, at the age of 88 in Burnaby, BC.

He is remembered by Caterina, his beloved and devoted wife of 62 years and his five loving children, Domenico (Lia), Nicola (Marisa), Bruno (Sandra), Stefania, Vincenzo (Laura).  He was blessed with ten loving grandchildren, Steve, Giordano, Anthony, Stefano, Alessia, Caterina, Domenic, Emma, Stefano and Rita.

He is predeceased by parents, Concetta and Domenico, and in-laws Immaculata and Nicola Figliuzzi, and brothers, Bruno, Francesco and Vito and brother-in-law, Bruno. He is remembered by his sister-in laws, Lina, Francesca (Enzo), Rosa, Rosina, Ursula and many loving nephews and nieces.

Stefano immigrated from Simbario, Calabria, Italy to Canada in 1957. With a strong will and deep faith in God, he worked tirelessly to make a wonderful life for his family. A tailor by profession, he established “Steve’s Tailoring and Drycleaning” a successful business on Commercial Drive where he and his wife worked together for over 40 years. He was a true gentleman and was respected by the community for his honesty, empathy, kindness and generosity.

He found tremendous joy being with his wife and family.  Whether it was inside sharing a meal or outside enjoying his backyard and garden, he was always well-dressed with a tie and a smile. A devoted parishioner of St. Francis of Assisi, he lived his life with gratitude.

Prayers will be offered on Wednesday, November 30th at 6pm and a Catholic Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, December 1st at 11am, both at St. Francis of Assisi Parish 2025 Napier St, Vancouver, BC. Interment to follow at Ocean View Cemetery.

We were blessed by his life and example, and we will always love him.
