Terence "Terry" McArdle

Our beloved Terence "Terry" McArdle, a man of great warmth and spirit, passed away peacefully with his wife by his side.

Born in Yorkshire, England, on February 8, 1938, Terry's journey brought him to Canada at the age of 13. He built a remarkable career at CN from 1955 to 1991, eventually serving as the freight claim service system manager. Following his time at CN, he embraced a new chapter in British Columbia, working as a realtor until his retirement in 2007.

Terry's life was a testament to his vibrant personality. He was a gourmet eater, a wonderful talker, and a great conversationalist who could captivate any room. His infectious smile and great voice made him a joy to be around, and he was a truly inspirational person to all who knew him. He had a love for dancing and was always interested in learning and experiencing new things. He loved to travel, with Palm Springs, Hawaii, and Japan holding a special place in his heart. Above all, he cherished time spent with family and friends, especially when it involved good food and great conversation. In recent years, he found joy and purpose in his Buddhist practice and became a devoted member of the Soka Gakkai Canada.

His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
