Theresa Marie (Puskas) Kaderly passed away unexpectedly after a long illness on Saturday, June 13, 2026 at her home in Vancouver, British Columbia at the age of 75 years old. She will be lovingly remembered by her daughters Annie, Erin, Laura, and Megan, her sons-in-law Jeremy Neese, Michael van der Pauw, Adam MacDonald, and John MacDonald, and her siblings Barbara Neundorf and George Puskas.
Theresa will especially be remembered by the lights of her life, her grandchildren, Noah, Micah, Joshua, Matthew, and Felix.
Theresa was born in Cleveland, OH, and lived in a variety of places, but she always considered Prince Edward Island, Canada her chosen home. For over 40 years, Theresa’s professional life was dedicated to caring for children, from volunteering at the girls’ school in those early years to becoming a certified Child and Youth Care Worker later in life.
Annie: I’ll remember my mom during her favorite season, winter, when the air is dry-icy and there’s snow on the ground. I’ll remember her when I’m asked to sing one more song at bedtime.
Erin: I am grateful to Mom for sharing with me her values of faith, service, kindness and acceptance toward others, and love for arts and nature, and I am grateful that she knows these values are alive in her children and grandchildren.
Laura: I see her in my sisters every time they insist on offering food and drink to a visitor. I see her in her grandchildren every time they repeat a favorite movie quote and break out laughing. I see her in me every time I rescue a bee that got trapped inside. I see her in others every time they show love and care towards one another.
Megan: Mom was a home for whoever needed one, giving everyone she met a kind word, a silly joke, or a warm hug.
Prayers will be offered at a closed service on Friday, June 26, 2026, at St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Vancouver, British Columbia with a memorial to follow at a later date in Prince Edward Island.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Theresa’s name to one of the following organizations that she held dear: Union Gospel Mission, Covenant House Vancouver, Canuck Place Children's Hospice, or Joyriders Therapeutic Riding Association of PEl.
