Thyra Helen Ruecker

Ruecker, Thyra Helen passed away peacefully September 9th, 2026, at the age of 95. Born on June 26th, 1931, in Regina, Saskatchewan to Charles Alan and Leona Nancy Brown. Predeceased by her loving husband of 69 years Herbert, son Sheldon, sister Grace Mighton (Jack), Brother Al Brown and grandson Carson. Survived by her son Lonnie, daughters Dawn Chisholm (Dave) and Karen Christopherson (Kevin) and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Thyra grew up in Regina, Saskatchewan where she met the love of her life Herb, who was a pilot with the Royal Canadian Air Force. Shortly after being married Herb was transferred to England where their first son Lonnie was born. In 1956 they moved to Manitoba where Herb retired from the Airforce. They moved to BC where they raised their family.

Thyra was known for being a wonderful cook and found great joy in preparing meals for family and friends. She would spend hours cutting out recipes from magazines and newspapers to create her own recipe books.

She will be remembered for her kindness and beautiful heart and will be sadly missed but will live on forever in our hearts.
